Description

Bhubaneshwar is a bustling spot for tourists with the coastal city of Odisha, Puri a few km away from the city. To raise awareness about the importance of travel and tourism, NIPS visited Khandagiri and Udayagiri to celebrate World Tourism Day. The caves hold a cultural and historical significance of ancient India. Dating back to the 1st century BC, these caves are closely linked to Jain monastic traditions and hold significant archaeological importance.

Being in the travel, tourism and hospitality industry the importance of knowing the cultural aspects of India holds great significance. NIPS took prior permission from the Archaeological Department, Bhubaneswar for entry to the site. The excursion became a great learning experience for the students. Aside from the educational strand, it was also engaging for the students and teachers to strengthen their bond.
